David Ross, Managing
Director of Power has joined the Council
of the Engineering Construction Industry Association (ECIA) as a representative
of the Major Contractor category.
His nomination to
the Council of the ECIA, the principal trade and
employer Association for the UK engineering construction industry, means David
will play a key role in the industry’s development. He says he will be
“particularly focused on improving health and safety. The industry employs
50-60,000 people in the UK and big strides have been made in recent years but this
is an opportunity to have a real impact in an area I feel passionate about.”
David has spent 33
years in the power industry, having joined the CEGB as a student apprentice at
Castle Donington Power Station. His career includes stints in Hong Kong,
Eastern Europe, Switzerland and the UK where he managed the development and
subsequent construction of Shotton CHP and held senior positions with Drax
Power and Centrica before joining PJD.
David’s role at PJD
is to make the company the leading independent supplier of mechanical engineering
services to the power industry.
As
well as David Ross’s appointment to the ECIA Council, PJD’s representation has
been further strengthened with HSE Director, Mike Mahoney being invited to join
the Health & Safety Committee. This combined with David’s recent
appointment has given PJD an excellent insight into the future forth coming
industry changes and allowed the company to be a part of the decision making
process within the engineering industry.
