Continuing our objective to become one of the top green companies within our industry, PJD are continuing our relationship with Cool Earth, a young charity that is rapidly becoming a force in tackling climate change by doing something practical and useful – tackling tropical deforestation – and by doing so, helping the lungs of the planet.
Recognising that rainforest protection is as much about working with local communities as it is investing in conservation, PJD is providing financial support to Cool Earth to enable them to protect a number of acres of rainforest that was certified for destruction and would now be barren scrub but for its intervention.
The project does not directly relate to carbon offsetting as such, but it provides a more cost effective alternative to offsetting by supercharging our carbon responsibility by a factor of ten as well as help protect valuable bio diversity and indigenous communities for the same price that it would cost to offset on the carbon markets.
