We are pleased to announce PJD has been awarded the CEMARS accreditation for 2009/2010.
Certification to CEMARS demonstrates PJD’s commitment to measuring, managing and reducing green house gas emissions in a robust and credible way. The accreditation is monitored by the Achilles carbon Reduction programme and is internationally recognized by the ISO 14064-1 standard.
The certification aids in aligning the company’s Carbon Reduction strategy and verification of the company’s operational footprint. The standard recognises the actions of PJD to measure green house gas emissions and helps the company to understand its carbon liabilities.
From this information PJD have been able to analyse results and put in place management plans to further reduce emissions in the organization for 2010/2011.
This achievement demonstrates that PJD has reached its target operational carbon footprint. Through this system of continuous awareness, the company has highlighted the following key areas to reduce greenhouse gas emissions over the coming years:
- All cars should have an emissions limit of 160 CO₂ (g/km) or less emissions.
- Introduction of “Web” meetings
- Introduction of a light sensor system at Head Office
- Reduction in the purchase of Gas Oil.
These key targets will help towards the over goal of a 10% annual reduction in Carbon Emissions.
